Fire is a devastating event. Each year, more than 25,000 Americans are injured in fires. Over 4,000 people are killed annually including more than 100 firefighters on duty. Direct loss due to fires is estimated at nearly $9 billion annually. Intentionally set structure fires alone result in an estimated $700 million in property damage every year.
