In January 2014, outgoing Chief Ken Cochrane was honored for his heroism by the Vocational Education And Extension Board Of The County Of Suffolk.
Chief Cochrane, who was also voted Suffolk County Firefighter of the Year, received the Bronze Medal Of Valor at a ceremony hosted by the Southampton Fire Department.
